Ash and Company. pp. 256. Grained red morocco, decoratively stamped in blind, ornately gilt spine and covers. Central gilt eagle and Harp motifs set within corner flowers and fleur-de-lys devices. All edges gilt. Near miniature format, tiny type face Genuinely special and wonderful mid-19th century American near-miniature leather binding, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. A very pleasing age patina to the item, impossible to recreate and very different from any modern book. Short video captures condition and appearance much better than words.
