Description: Offered for your consideration is a large glass clear glass open compote made by the New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Company (1900-1944) in their pattern number 718. Also known as "Colonial and Mitre" or "Frontier", this pattern was introduced in 1912. The compote measures 7.75 inches (19.7 cm) in diameter and is slightly more than 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) tall. This compote is in excellent used condition with no cracks, chips, noticeable roughness, nor repairs. There are few light surface scratches inside bowl. Compote is used so there may be minor wear or additional indications of use, see photos. There is no cloudiness nor lime scale present, but the glass has a slight grayish hue possibly due to UV exposure. There are bubbles within the glass, a shear (straw) mark inside bowl, and there may be other minor imperfections due to the manufacturing process used at the time. Compote will be shipped from a smoke free home and packed securely for shipping. Good luck and thank you for your interest.
