Description: The Richards & Hartley Block and Fan pattern line (#554) was introduced around 1885, with production continuing after the company was acquired by US Glass. It was an extended table wear line of non-flint glass produced clear or with a ruby stain. Offered here is a nice Block & Fan cruet and stopper. It is unknown if this stopper is original (it wobbles slightly in the stem), but both fluoresce yellow under a black light. With the stopper, the piece measures about 6 ¼” high. There is some light haze and what are likely some small production heat cracks where the handle was applied (see pictures). Overall, it is in very good antique condition. This old EAPG item will be a nice piece in your cruet collection.
