Description: Cuban Film Guild award. Made in 1945. From Cuba. Given to the years award winning actor. Equal to the Oscar awards in America. Parts of the base have been lost. The plaque with the actors name is lost. Black marble base is highly marbled. Original part of the base. Statue is some kind of aluminum alloy. Could be silver plated. No markings to prove. Never been cleaned. Excellent patina. Bakelite base does have a 5 stamp. Was purchased from a movie house 25 years ago. In Cuba by me. 17” tall without marble base. 18” with complete base. 4 1/2” at the widest at the wings. Bakelite base is 4 1/2” radius. Marble base is 6 3/4” radius. 6th wingtip down on the left has been repaired. 5th and 6th wingtip on the right has been repaired. See last pictures for details. Fantastic art deco styling. Unbelievably rare piece. Most likely only a few examples if any at all.
