Description: Early Original Large Antique Daguerreotype Photo in Nice Dress, Taken c.1845 DESCRIPTION: Beautiful early antique daguerreotype image taken during the very early days of popular daguerreotype photography, c1845. Very clear image. I apologize for the reflected light/camera in my scans, obviously not part of the actual photo itself, which is quite clear. Simple mat type as shown, typical of the decade prior to1850. QUITE UNIQUE & UNUSUAL& RARE, ALSO IN THAT SHE APPEARS TO HAVE A GLASS EYE IN HER RIGHT EYE.... HER LEFT EYE LOOKS MUCH DIFFERENT THAN HER RIGHT, MUCH LARGER, ETC. Sure looks like a glass eye prosthetic. People were often injured on farms and doing chores, and possible that it was from this type of injury. In any case, a very rare image. This dag has great, early mid-1800's subject matter. Hair up, a nice seated antebellum pose and appearance, and a nice, early American headpiece. She also is wearing a very early, fancy large collar lace. 1/6 plate size, in a beautiful 1/6 plate brass mat, in 2 sides of an original leather case. Nice design and is in excellent condition. THIS IS A VERY HANDSOME WOMAN IN A GREAT EARLY DAG, WITH A MEDICAL CONDITION IN HER EYE!! EXTREMELY UNUSUAL, VERY RARE, AND VERY NICE TO FIND SUCH AN EARLY ANTIQUE DAGUERREOTYPE PHOTO !!! Please see my auction list for other framed antique photos, both ambrotypes and daguerreotypes, many identified and many in gorgeous fancy frames!! PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!!
