Description: Bud Stewart Side sucker wooden lure made by Elman "Bud" Stewart (1912-1999) of Flint, Michigan. AKA Michigan's Legendary Lure Maker. Bud was so revered as a fishing lure and fish decoy maker, and also as a folk artisan that a book about his life and creations was written about him while he was alive. Bud's fishing lures and fish decoys about always had either the action and / or paint, simulating a crippled, wounded, or dying fish or critter.If the preceding sounds familiar to you collectors, it should. Most of the text, except for that specifying the type of lure being sold, echoes the Bud Stewart lure auctions previously run here on Ebay by member "comdcoys". We lost a fantastic seller in 2023 as well as collector, author, fisherman, among many other accolades / titles. I have had the rare opportunity and great privilege to buy lures from him, as well as Bud Stewart lures, finished and unfinished.When Bud Stewart passed, he left the contents of his workshop to his good friend, comdcoys. All of the lures I will be offering have come directly from Bud Stewart, to comdcoys, to me, to ebay (you). Funny story told to me, when Bud's workshop was emptied, all of the lures were placed in bulk into many totes. Years later, when it came time to sort through them, they were a tangled mess! When a lure on top was lifted out, the entire contents of the tote came with it! That must have been a very interesting, yet, bittersweet day.
