Early B&W New York City Photograph. Construction Of Manhattan Bridge Circa 1903

Description: For sale is a great photograph for collectors of early in the New York City architecture and landscape. This black-and-white photograph, which we believe to be a silver gelatin photograph, is a view looking towards the East River with the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge in the background. The Manhattan Bridge as you can see in the photograph does not have its deck yet constructed. This bridge was under construction at the time that this photograph was taken and we believe it to be circa 1903 to 1906 in age. Perhaps an expert on the bridge construction of the Manhattan Bridge can closer identify the age of this photograph. We know the bridge opened to traffic around late 1908 but was completed earlier. Therefore we believe this picture can be no later than 1907. It is a gorgeous and highly detailed very clear and crisp photographics surviving for such a long time for over 100 years. This photograph is professionally matted and framed and ready to hang in a collection of fine early vintage in New York City architectural photographs. There is an attribution label on the back of this photograph which attributes this photograph to A Loeffler. We believe Loeffler was a New York City photographer who photographed in the late 1800's through the early 1900s. We have not taken this picture out of it's professional matting and frame so we are unsure about this attribution. This photograph came from a high end estate out of New York City and was bought at sale of the estate closing. We were told it was a silver gelatin photo. We are not experts in photography so we are unsure exactly what type of photograph this is.
