COMANCHE SCALPING MEMORABILIA IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING FACTUAL REPRESENTATION NOT RETREAD HISTORY Folks, I knew little about this story but I am so happy that I found it. The history of the old West is well laced with strange happenings, many wholly incredible but nevertheless true, many so bizarre as to defy all belief, but to me the most fantastic of all is the story of Josiah Wilbarger of pioneer Texas. Ambushed by Indians, wounded numerous times by both arrows and bullets, scalped, stripped and left bathed in his own blood to die, still he lived and was given the courage to hang on by the spirit of a dead woman and in the end was saved by a strange dream of a neighbor. I recommend reading and saving these old stories that have been seldom seen or rarely read. As many of you know, I specialize in finding old American history, pictures and stories of long ago. Here is the rest of the story entitled MIRACLE OF JOSIAH WILBARGER There were many a western story published – the common ones about Cowboys and Indians are listed on ebay every day but the rarer ones about the. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out because really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest. Here’s one of ‘em. Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western heroes. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf gathering dust. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell. This complete index will be included in this offering at no additional cost. We are trying to keep history alive. Hope you appreciate the effort.
