Description: Beautiful square commemorative plate made for the 1937 coronation of King Edward VIII, which never happened. Manufacturer is Wedgewood china. Sepia portrait of the would-be king in military uniform. Date or proposed coronation. Gold bordering. Measures approx. 8.5 inches x 8.5 inches. Excellent condition: no chips, cracks, scratches, utensil marks, or fading of the transfer. Gold bordering still intact. Maybe some very, very slight age related glaze crackling that is almost impossible to see because it is so miniscule and can only be seen very up close to the plate. Please see all photos to assess condition. Additional photos available upon request.
