There is a pinhole seen to the upper right. Otherwise fine. The frame has minor scratches due to the age Einer Johansen (1893-1965) Born in Copenhagen in 1893. Attended the technical school of arts and educated at the Royal Art Academy in 1913. Pupil of Professor Julius Paulsen. Johansen moved to France around 1926 and lived in the Nogent-sur-Marne area, located outside Paris. His stay in France lasted until the late 1950s. During his early Paris years, Johansen worked on a series of expressive City views, café scenes, and depictions from the many Parisian theatres and shopping streets. During the late 1930s and early 1940s, he worked on a series of nudes and still-life’s. In recognition of his talent and work, he won the Ronge Prize in 1920 and the Serdin-Hansen Prize in 1931. He debuted at the esteemed Charlottenborg Spring Exhibitions in 1916 and exhibited there almost continuously until 1964. He was also a frequent exhibitor at the Artist´ Fall Exhibitions (1917-19), 1924-26 and 1928-32) and at the Charlottenborg Fall Exhibitions (1922, 1931 and 1938).
