Description: This is a (1772-83)-FF or FM Mexico Silver 1/2 Real from the El Cazador Shipwreck NGC Genuine. The first two images are provided by the NGC Photography Team and can be downloaded. This particular coin exhibits a really interesting impression left from what is assumed to be from another coin that sat atop this one and leaving a strong impression of the Shield over the Portrait. The reverse of the host coin is essentially nonexistent, but the obverse portrait is still visible even with the impression. There are a couple specs of the coin that got chipped likely during the encapsulation process as these are quite brittle.
