A su retorno al Ecuador se dedicó a la enseñanza, abriendo una escuela primaria bilingÜe a la par que entraba una vez más a la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja donde obtuvo su título en la especialidad de Pedagogía. Más adelante se trasladó con su familia a Sacramento, California donde hizo su maestría en Español, idioma que enseñó en un colegio secundario de dicha ciudad. Actualmente, está jubilada y dedica su tiempo a escribir y a la investigación.
