She believes in the educational and transformative power of childrens literature and for this reason, decided to start writing as well. In 2020 her first book, El sueño de Claudia, won the Narrating Equality award for childrens literature. Simona Mulazzani has worked for different publishers in Italy, Japan, France and United States. She received the silver medal from the Society of Illustrators of New York in 2005 and 2015, and won the White Ravens in 2007 and HC Anderson Award for best illustrator in 2008 and 2016.
