Description: Elaborate pin back bicycling badge reading “Deutscher Rad-Fahrer Bund” measures 1 ½” across with a maroon fringe around that. The German Cycling Federation or BDR (in German: Bund Deutscher Radfahrer) is the national governing body of cycle racing in Germany. The BDR was first created in 1884 in Leipzig, only to be subsequently dissolved in 1933 after the Enabling Act of 1933, which legally gave Hitler dictatorial control of Germany. This particular badge is obviously from the late 1800’s as came with this cycling package. From the Ed A. Nelson estate. In 1896, the Hendee (Indian motorcycle fame) & Nelson Manufacturing Company at 478 Main Street in Springfield, Massachusetts was building safety bicycles under the names Silver King for men and Silver Queen for women. This and other listed were from late 1800's bicycle racer Nelsons estate. and listing others from the same estate. Reasonable offers considered. All my items are guaranteed original.
