Description: Presented is a wonderful antique American sterling silver three piece tea or coffee set by La Pierre, dating to around the 1910s-1920s. The set is made in an elegant, classical form, with vertical ribbed decoration over the lower half of the body and a band of vertical fluting and rosettes around the shoulder on each piece. The handles are done in an appealing sinuous style, reminiscent of those on Greek oinochoe or other vessels, very elegant. The pieces have round pedestal bases, with acanthus leaf borders. Each piece has a monogram on one side of EB in flowing script, but the pieces can easily be displayed with the monogram facing a wall/back of shelf etc. This set is a smaller size and would be suitable for an intimate tea or as a demitasse coffee set, or however else suits you. The set consists of: Teapot--12 3/4 inches tall, 7 inches handle to spout. Capacity of 3.5 cups (28 fluid ounces/825 milliliters) Sugar bowl—4 3/8 inches tall, measures 5 inches from handle to handle. Creamer—6 1/2 inches tall. Each piece is stamped with the maker's mark for La Pierre (a division of International Silver) as well as sterling and a product number 2120. This set is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The total weight for the set is 909 grams or 32.1 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
