This is an official release by Emek and Faded Line Company as described below: This is LIMITED EDITION signed and numbered to 65 - approx 68" x 45" Each batik is hand painted by a family in Bali. Upon arrival in the US, they are signed and numbered by Emek. No two batiks are the same! In addition to a wall hanging, some people frame the batiks or even wear as a sarong. The Carnivorus Musicalus was originally used on as the official event poster for the 2007 Coachella Music Festival - beautifully illustrated by Emek. A portion of every sale will go towards new filtration systems. The family who makes each wall hanging by hand is paid very well and hopes you love our product! The word batik (pronounced Bateek) means "wax written" and this is basically what batik is. It is a way of decorating cloth by covering part of it with a coat of wax and then dyeing the cloth. The waxed area keeps its original color and when the wax is removed the contrast between the dyed and undyed area makes the pattern. Big, bold designs in bright colors are most striking. The fabric is 100% Indonesian rayon. Made from natural plant cellulose (in this case coconut fiber).This piece is S/# 35/65. It has not been displayed and has been stored since purchase.
