Four ball bearing equipped bobbins. Fancy threading hook included. Primarily Double Drive, with Scotch Tension ability included. The Emily wheel is a Carson Cooper original design first introduced in 2017. Emily is loosely based on another original design from 2015 called the Krista. Emily has replaced the Krista wheel now. The common feature between the two designs is the use of two different sized accelerator wheels located on a common shaft above the drive wheel. This allows for a wider range of ratios possible (typically from 8:1 up to 40:1 for Emily), than an accelerated wheel with just a large diameter wheel above. In addition, the “angle of wrap” with the drive band on the flyer whorl is larger, especially when just using the smaller setting. Without getting too technical, this is a good thing. Each Emily is constructed from the finest Curly Cherry, from Amish mills, sourced at a time when the trees being harvested had the best figure I’ve seen in several years. Unfortunately later harvests have not been as wonderful, making what was used even more precious. Primo Claro Walnut from the Pacific Northwest has been used for some accents, Birdseye Maple was used for pegs and such. NO shipping available to Alaska or Hawaii.
