ENGLISH CIVIL WAR PERIOD ENGLISH/DUTCH LOBSTER-TAIL POT HELMET, ca. 1600’s

Description: This item along with multiple other historical war armor pieces were recently purchased at an estate sale in Kansas City. The previous owner was a local prominent doctor. I am listing this item and the other armor here on eBay so stay tuned as I continue to research and picture the collection. A VERY GOOD UNTOUCHED ENGLISH CIVIL WAR PERIOD ENGLISH/DUTCH LOBSTER-TAIL POT HELMET, ca. 1600 17th Century, two (2) piece construction with a hand-forged, approx. 3lbs 13.5oz. The interior with dark and untouched, oxidized surfaces having some minor lamination, rust-stains and expected forge roughness and battle wear. Retains generally smooth, gunmetal-toned, untouched, outer surfaces with scattered discoloration and expected signs of use and wear. One earpiece is clearly lost contact with the other held on by one remaining piece. Appears all original and of English/Dutch make, ca. 1600’s and complete with its original sliding/adjustable nasal-bar face-defense with trefoil finial, its heart-shaped and stamped with armors mark.
