Description: Hello, I will support your music life from Japan.I will do my utmost for the service you satisfy. Item Description Epiphone SB722 Olympic Sunburst (1963) Epiphone was started by a family of Greek immigrants. At the beginning of the 20th century, the family settled in Manhattan and began running a business that manufactured, sold, and repaired mandolins and other musical instruments out of a building that served as their residence and workshop. Epaminondas, the eldest son who inherited the family business, changed the company name to the current Epiphone in 1928. In the 1930s, as the boom changed to banjos and archtop guitars, both companies grew in reputation while competing with rival Gibson. However, during the war, their production systems were severely damaged. The company subsequently entered a period of economic decline due to labor disputes and other issues. Les Paul, who had a deep connection with the workshop in the early 1950s, advised Ted McCarty of Gibson to save the Epiphone. In 1957, the company became a subsidiary of Gibson, and the following year, a new lineup was developed and the company set out on a new path. The Epiphone Olympic, introduced in 1960, was a cousin of the Gibson "Melodymaker" and was manufactured at the same Kalamazoo factory as the popular solid model at the time. Olympic actually has more minor specification changes than Melodymaker. At the beginning of its release, it had the same single cut style as "MM", but changed to a double cut style around 1962, but soon after, it changed to Epiphone's original double cut style, along with its brother machines Coronet, Wilshire, and Crestwood, and Melodymaker. It will no longer be a simple restoration. This instrument is a 63s with a second design that was changed from a single cut design to a double cut, following Melodymaker. Regular neck with approximately 42.9mm nut width, Jacaranda fingerboard, mahogany 1-piece body. This is a fun piece with a comfortable neck profile that responds to your grip, and a light body that gives off a light yet loud and expansive sound. The body has a good resonance, and you can feel the rich sustain from the body. At this time, the shape of the headstock still retains the design of the Gibson head. Overall, this item appears to be in very good condition, and of course there is some weather checking that is appropriate for its age, but the glossy finish of the painted surface remains. Although there are some minor scratches and buckle marks on the body back, there is nothing that significantly detracts from the appearance. Good neck condition including rod adjustment. Since the wraparound bridge is chrome plated, it may be from a slightly later model, but it is a genuine part used in the same model. An attractive model with a cute look but a vintage style. Don't miss it. A chipboard case from that time is included.
