Ferns in this genus are widely known as staghorn or elk horn ferns due to their uniquely shaped fronds. Name: Platycerium elephantotis.Size: MEDIUMContainer size: 11.5 inch x 5.5 inch plaque. Care: Prefer Shade (medium light to bright light). Avoid direct sun. Water when dry. Feed with standard 20-20-20 every few weeks. They are tropical plant. Best kept between 55F to 90F. Plants are locally grown in Miami, Florida. Note: Nature of P. elephantotis tends to have brown (dry) shield fronds during the months of June to August (dormant time). Plant will put out new shield fronds during the months of late August and September to cover brown shield fronds.
