The cover is brown leather and has a nice smell. It is a hardback book measuring 8.25x11". 184 pages. The green bookmark is inside. I think I was the first person to open the book. The edge of the pages are gold. The bookplate is inside loose, not attached. The sticky backing may not longer be sticky due to age. There is very minor edge and corner wear from being on the shelf. There is some light discoloration of the fabric facing the cover inside. There are wonderful full-color illustrations inside by Michael Ayrton.
