Description: Published by Leslie Levy Fine Art. We are the publisher. Evelyne Brigeois (1946-2016) Evelyne Brigeois was a self-taught watercolor artist who focused on scenes of the Greek Islands. Evelyne had lived in France, England, Germany and Spain before emigrating to America in 1980 and moving to California to focus on her painting. Evelyne painted in a tight, precise style all her own, capturing the tiny details which evoked the visual and emotional landscape of the region. Brigeois was especially inspired by the landscapes of Greece not only for the bright blue skies and pure white light, but also because they called to mind her childhood in a tiny French village.Evelyne lived and worked in the U.S. as an artist for almost 40 years. She received many national and international awards for her art and was featured in the U.S. Art and the American Artist magazines. Crisp precision, strong definition of light and shadow, and beautiful composition distinguish her images of the Greek Islands, Venice and France.
