Description: For sale is a copy of Explorations of Captain James Cook in the Pacific as Told by Selections of His Own Journals, 1768-1779 published by The Limited Editions Club in 1957. The book is in very good fine condition bordering on near fine. The kangaroo leather on the spine shows some scuffing and wear to the top and bottom (see photos), but, given how difficult it is to find this book in nice condition, the damage is particularly minimal. Also, note that the leather is not faded, which is very unusual for this book. The rest of the book shows no blemishes or damage of any kind inside or outside. The original slipcase is included and it shows some minor all-around wear, particularly a discoloration in the middle of the spine (see photo), but overall looks great and is sturdy. Only 1,500 copies of this book were made and this is number 1,213 and is signed by illustrator Geoffrey C. Ingleton and printer Douglas A. Dunstan.
