The cover and back cover are coloured and the issue contains two colour central plates. The magazine runs to 48 pages and is full of advertisements, articles, illustrations and photographs. The pages are in very good condition and without tears slight browning on a few pages and shown. A great example of a period fashion magazine and scarce. Featuring Fantastic Cover illustration by George Barbier. Fashion by Vuitton, Burberrys, Doucet and many others. A great addition for the collector of Femina Magazine, Fashion or Period Advertising! Femina (France) The first French magazine to target women, Femina was founded in 1901 by Pierre Lafitte: Content: The magazine covered a range of topics, including fashion, arts, current events, leisure activities, and interior design. It also featured illustrations, and the cover was often a reproduction of a photograph. Audience: Femina was aimed at an affluent, modern, urban audience of French women. The magazine encouraged readers to dress and shop like the social elite, and to be interested in culture, politics, and literature. Staff: Femina was edited and staffed by women only. Publication history: Femina was published bimonthly and reached its peak readership of around 40,000 in 1934–1935. Publication ceased in 1938 after Lafitte's death but was relaunched in 1945.
