Fenton ~~ ON SALE ~~ Handled Comport with FRUIT motif Satin Custard Circa 1970's

Description: Fenton Handled FRUIT Mould Comport Circa 1970's REDUCED FOR FINAL CLEARANCE WAS $89.50 I did search all of my catalogs but did not see a picture of this piece in any of them. However, I did find it listed in several of my collectors' books as being made after 1973 and into the 1980's. This piece, however, has the Fenton logo on the bottom with NO NUMBER under the name or above it meaning, therefore, this piece was made in the 1970's decade only and not into the 1980's. The mould used was Fenton's FRUIT mould or motif. However that really isn't clear enough for me to see. YES, this would be correct because Fenton said so, but on the inside of this comport are what might be pears and a whole slug of leaves. And the design is faint and hard to make out in this color. It is made in Fenton's custard glass, and even though this does probably will glow under a black light but I believe all custard glass of this time frame does. It was the sand that Fenton got when making this glass and nothing was added to the mixture to make it glow like was done with Burmese glass. It is footed and handles on 2 sides. The edge is scalloped also. It stands about 4 inches tall, is about 8 inches wide handle to handle, and about 6 inches wide from the other side There are no chips, cracks, or repairs that I can see, but please keep in mind this is 45 years old now or more and has been used. Because of that, there are some dirt marks but nothing really serious and a good bleach job will probably clear that all up anyhow. Thanks for looking and GOD'S LOVE IS WITH YOU.
