The blade is in CPM-S125V which is in the vein as REX-121 and Maxamet in terms of edge retention. It's also notoriously hard to work with and most makers won't touch the stuff. Even today, you're more likely to find a blued Bertie Rietveld Dragonskin Damascus blade than one in CPM-S125V. It has Ferrum Forge's unique action (customs have extra heavy lockbar tension paired up with the Hoback Roller Detent). Lockbar relief cut is internal, with a raised outer shelf. On the Specters, the relief cut area is extra thick with a hole drilled through.
