Sardonyx cameos are rare as they required the skill of only expert master carvers. Due to the unforgiving nature of hardstone, there was no room for mistakes. This exquisite piece of antique jewelry has a pinback clasp and a swivel bale so that it transforms from a brooch to a pendant. The brooch/pendant measures 42 mm (1 11/16") X 35 mm (1 3/8").
