Description: This is a lovely and Fine Antique California Plein Air Impressionist Landscape Oil Painting on canvas, by seldomly seen early Northern California female Impressionist painter, Daisy Schlagl (1911 - 1999.) This artwork likely dates to the late 1940's - 1950's and depicts a bucolic and tranquil landscape scene in Marin County, California. Finely rendered trees, leaves and foliage highlight this image, while a majestic mountain vista in varying blue hues is visible in the distance. In the foreground, patches of blue and orange wildflowers are visible. Signed: "Daisy Schlagl" in the lower right corner. Additionally, this artwork is signed and titled: "Daisy Schlagl...Spring" on the verso of the canvas, and retains an old, yellowed exhibition label from the "Marin Society of Artists." Unfortunately, I could find very little information on this talented California Impressionist painter. Perhaps you know more about her or her work? Approximately 29 3/4 x 35 1/2 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 24 x 30 inches. Very good condition for age, with some faint age-related craquelure at the edges of the canvas, and mild scuffing and edge wear to the original period wooden frame (please see photos.) Acquired in Orange County, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!
