Description: FRENCH TRINKET BOX An unusually pretty and good quality antique French jewellery box in lovely amboyna wood; beautiful with its tight and profuse burrs and flowing rippled grain. The box also has very eye-catching ornamentation to the lid, front and sides in the form of applied pearl beads mounted upon ormolu seats. The lid corners and centre, as well as the escutcheon, have further mother-of-pearl decoration. Date: late 19th Century. Condition: Very good functional condition. The box has no obvious damage or dents and has been looked after well. It has recently been repolished externally and the interior has been relined in an attractive emerald green velvet.
