Description: This is a lovely and Fine Antique Victorian English Aristocrat Woman Portrait Oil Painting on canvas, depicting the portrait of a beautiful auburn haired young aristocratic lady, wearing her hair in a bun adorned with seed pearls, and wearing a flowing white lace gown with a gold sash. She holds a yellow feather duster in her right hand, and stares invitingly at the viewer's gaze. Signed and dated in the lower right corner: "M.H. 1890." Additionally, on the top stretcher bar of the verso it reads in graphite: "Edwina Stuart...By Mattie "Margaret" S. H(...?) I cannot make out the letters of the last name, but perhaps you recognize the artist or her work? This impressive artwork is approximately 41 x 57 3/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 33 x 50 inches. Good condition for well over a century of age, with light scuffs and dustiness to the painted canvas, and moderate scuffing, edge wear, gilding loss, and chipping to the original period Victorian wood frame (please see photos.)
