Description: Once you’ve seen a Robert Kipniss painting, you understand why he has been acclaimed as a “contemporary master”. His works are in collections all over the world, and museums like the Whitney and Metropolitan, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Los Angeles County Museum have all featured his art. While we are keeping our Kipniss lithographs, we are selling this original oil painting, “Hillside View”. NOTE: “Hillside View” was already framed when we purchased it at Merrill Chase Gallery in Chicago. We met Kipniss at a reception and he added a personal dedication on the back of the framed work. In addition, note that there is a matte inside the frame which accounts for the exterior (outside) measurements vs. the interior (inside) measurements. This Kipniss oil, created and purchased in 1986, has been prominently displayed in our home ever since. It was last appraised at $5500.
