Description: This amazing azurite "sun" on kaolinite clay matrix specimen was mined in 2011 by Dehne Mclaughlin & his wife in the Northern Territory on Aboriginal Land Trust with consent. An excellent multipage article in "Rocks and Minerals" magazine (Nov./Dec.2012) describes the entire discovery & mining operation. This beautiful matrix specimen has two small, but perfect azurite suns. The specimen is 6.5 by 2.5 by 5 cm and the "sun" discoid is about 3.5 cm in diameter. A special transparent coating was applied by Dehne in order to protect against anymoisture infiltration. Azurite is seldom found as a discoid "sun" and is unique to this mine. A great azurite sun specimen for your collection at a bargain price. Satisfaction guaranteed. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in its original condition for a full refund of purchase price.
