Description: Description: A very handsome English Antique Edwardian solid sterling silver pocket hip flask, having a plain shaped rectangular body with rounded shoulders, a bayonet screw fitted hinged lid with a cork interior and comes with a pull off cup with gold gilt interior. The body is not engraved with any presentation inscriptions, initials, monograms, family crest marks or anything erased. The hip flask is of an excellent useable large size, made of an excellent thick gauge of solid sterling silver and weighs an impressive 213 grams. The hip flask holds up to 150 ml of liquids and the pull off cup 100 ml of liquids with no leaks or any signs of holes. It's from the King Edward VII period and is of 116 years of age. A splendid example from that period which hasn't been personalised which is either ready to be used for its purpose or would make a fabulous addition to someone collection. An excellent clean example from that period. Makers, Assay office & Date Hallmark: G & J W Hawksley (Registered March 1900), Sheffield and 1908 Measurements: Height 12.8 cm, Width 8 cm and Depth 2.5 cm Condition report: Excellent condition for its 116 years of age with no major dents, dings, holes, splits or repairs. Just has some very light surface marks which has to be expected with age and use but nothing major just whats to be expected with an object of this period. The pull off cup fits perfectly well to the flask, removes/fits as it should with no issues and the gilt interior is original but has slightly worn with age and use. The lid twists open and closes perfectly well with no issues. The interior cork to the lid is in excellent condition with no damage. It holds perfectly well with no leaks its ready to be used. It's an all original matching hip flask which is hallmarked with English solid sterling silver hallmarks to the body, pull of cup, neck and interior hinge with most marks being very readable but the makers marks are slightly rubbed with age and use. A excellent all original hip flask and hasn't been engraved with a personal inscription. A lovely example and is ready to be added to your collection.
