It's coated with a high temp and a hammered black paint giving it the ability to withstand those hot fires and roughness that comes with handling logs. Everything is fabricated in my shop here in Missouri. For those extremely large fires you might have out back in your extra large fire pit (lol), I make a fire poker that is almost twice as big as this one with tongs.
