Unbeknownst to the many admirers of Robin Williams was that he was a lover of books. Over the years, Williams had his own private press specially printing on fine papers and handsomely binding editions of the screenplays of some of the films he appeared in. They were all printed in very small quantities. Williams would sign them and then they would be sent to members of the cast and crew of the productions. As a unique item, this is a special opportunity to honor and celebrate Williams’s love of his craft, his love of books, and his appreciation of the people who helped to bring his films to life. Flubber was directed by Les Mayfield, starring Robin Williams as the absent-minded Professor Philip Brainard, with Marcia Gay Harden, Christopher McDonald, Ted Levine, Clancy Brown, and Wil Wheaton. This Walt Disney Studios production of Flubber was a theatrical remake of the original 1961 film starring Fred MacMurray, with the story developed by Robin Williams and adjusted for the times. Essentially both films tell the story of a brilliantly quirky professor who discovers a substance he calls “flubber”, a mysterious rubber-like hybrid elastomer that can lift objects, bouncing and stretching as is it had a mind of its own. Delightful mayhem ensues as a ruthless rival becomes determined to get his hands on this extraordinary substance.
