Description: This is an original 1959 hardcover printing of "Fodor's Jet Age Guide to Europe," containing 825 pages profiling 32 countries' cultural practices, places to see (by plane, ship, train, car, or bus), and accommodations, with 44 maps complementing the text. Between pages 420 and 421 is a pouch containing a list of establishments participating in the Fodor's Readers Club plan. The book makes a great resource for anyone interested in Europe during this time period. Overall, the copy being offered is in fair vintage condition with some flaws. You'll see in my first five photos that the covers have a lot of wear and some staining, and both covers have horizontal light creases; meanwhile, the dust jacket is intact but has many scratches and quite heavy wear, most noticeably in the form of heavy chipping (with several tears) along the edges. There is also prominent curling on the inner flaps of the jacket. The back cover is loose from the binding, with some splitting where it meets the binding, as my final photo shows. Inside, the pages are crisp, well-bound, and largely clean, with a $4.00 price written with pen ink on the first page, some stamps with the name Andrew Fedorka on a few pages in the book, and some pages with dog ear creases and/or light wrinkles.
