New Elgin valves, new Falcon performance springs/keepers- Springs can accommodate up to a .540 lift camshaft. Heads resurfaced, taking the bare minimum off to true them up to avoid altering combustion chamber volume. Heads were completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, coated with a hi-temp cast coat iron coating, and then carefully reassembled with all new hardware. Screw in rocker studs. Valves lapped to the new seats. New positive type valve guide seals on all the valve stems. These heads have never been ported. Guys, this is the real deal. I have a dyno sheet showing a set of unported Dove heads putting out around 575 HP and a whopping 700 ft-lbs of torque on a stroker engine on pump gas. I contemplated having these heads opened up, but decided against it to preserve the stump pulling torque these can provide. Opening the exhaust on Dove heads can certainly gain you more top end horsepower, but in my professional opinion the gains in HP do not warrant the loss of low end torque that gets you off the line. For those not in the know- D0VE-C heads are the last casting of 460 heads with small combustion chambers. That means that when you slap these on a 460 from an old motorhome with less than 50,000 miles on the crank, you can expect a pretty serious gain in power and attitude from running these heads.
