Here is a beautiful fossil clam, Mercanaria mercanaria, from Rucks Pit, near Okeechobee, Florida. From about 1.8 to 2.2 million years ago. This one features a clam shell surrounding some beautiful "golden calcite". The back side shows an almost complete shell, with a bit of calcite, etc. as well. So it is beautiful on both sides (photos). The clam itself is about 4.3 inches wide, and it weighs 14.55 oz. We invite you to visit our store.
