Judaica TWO MATTED AND FRAMED FACSIMILE COPIES OF BEAUTIFUL, COLORFUL AND UNUSUAL EARLY 20TH CENTURY JEWISH NEW YEAR CARDS The first is a large format (11.25 x 8.5 inches) card imitating a ship ticket (shifskarte) for a transtlantic crossing from Europe into New York Harbor with its welcoming Statue of Liberty. The illustrations include many types of ships, a train, many Jewish flags and other symbols. There are many greetings, prayers and wishes in Yiddish and Hebrew. The original of this card was printed in Germany. The second card is in the form of a bank check drawn on “The Bank of Heaven”. It shows a scene of a ship crossing under a suspension (Brooklyn?) bridge with an airship above, and the New York skyline in the background. The New Year greeting and wishes on this card are in Hebrew and Englsh. The card also includes Jewish symbols such as a Menorah, Star of David, Decalogue, and a blue and white flag. The dimensions of this card are: 8.25 x 3 inches. The two cards are matted and framed under glass in a black wooden frame. Frame dimensions: 12.75 x 16.75 inches. CONDITION: The Facsimiles, Matting and Frame are in Fine shape.
