Description: Here's a really cool Secretariat piece. This is a framed metal replica of the historical marker for Meadow Farm, the birthplace of Secretariat in Virginia (yes he was born in Virginia and not in Kentucky). The marker tells the story of Meadow Farm, Penny Chenery and Big Red. Please note, THIS IS NOT the actual historical marker that is pictured at the end for reference. But this is a high quality reproduction that appears to be made of metal (but obviously not as large, thick or heavy as the actual marker). The frame is beautiful and appears to be very high quality and professionally done with a heavy duty wire for hanging. It measures approximately 23"x23". The marker itself is about 14"x15" and it does have some embossed effects that make it look 3D. The frame is sealed so I cannot access the sign, but it appears to be either tin or aluminum. This is quite heavy with the frame and weighs more than 6 pounds. Please review the photos and use the magnify feature to review the condition. We guarantee satisfaction with the racing items we sell, so if you are not happy with it then it can be returned for a full refund, assuming it is returned in the same condition of course. Shipping is $39.95 (this is quite large and heavy, and it will be packed very securely). Please see our other auctions for an extensive collection of historic horse racing programs, Daily Racing Forms, trophies and memorabilia featuring horses like Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Dr. Fager, Damascus, Round Table, Dan Patch, Buckpasser, Kelso and other champions and Kentucky Derby winners. We will be selling off most of our collection over the next couple months.
