Description: I have for sale a 1933 commemorative medal for Frances E. Willard. Willard was a leader of the temperance movement; president of Women's Christian Temperance Union in 1879 & helped organize the Prohibition Party. This medal is bronze, it is 1 5/16 inch in diameter and it is encapsulated in an NGC holder and graded MS 63 BY them, but it does have rub marks on the higher points. This medal is listed in the So Called Dollar catalog as HK 772. The obverse shows the bust of FRANCES E. WILLARD with her name. The reverse shows a scene with a male figure addressing a group of females in front of a building. Around the top rim it reads WOMAN'S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UNION with the date Dec. 15, 1873 below.
