Description: Charnley-Persky House Drawings - Designed by Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright Published by Wilkerson & Hughes, LLC 8 Drawings plus covers Wire Bound Index Card covers with 24 lb Cream pages 8.5"wide x 11"high At 8 pages, this booklet is the smallest in our catalog. It represents a pivotal period in Architectural history when the Genius of Sullivan and Wright collaborated on the first Modern Chicago style home that would lead to greater innovations in the future. There are 2 front elevation drawings. One from the orginal survey in 1964 and another in 2004 after the home was restored. This book is entirely composed of measured drawings conducted by the Historic American Buildings Survey. During the Great Depression, this WPA project was started to employ starving Architects and draftsmen to document the greatest historic buildings of America. The program is ongoing today often using Architectural College teams from various Universities. The team for this design project were from Illinois Institute of Tecnology, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania State University, and Texas Tech. The pages contain 8 high resolution black line drawings on Cream paper. Our publishing company developed a unique computer program to restore the line weight and density to make the original drawings look almost as good as the day they were drawn. The original drawings are badly faded. Some lines had to be added. Books are shipped First Class USPS in a padded envelope. Larger quantities of this book are available to order.
