The star of the TV sitcom Chico and the Man (premiered in 1974) committed suicide in 1977 at the age of 22. The series continued without him until 1978. He writes, in part: "Concurrently herewith you are entering into an independent contractor's agreement with Hunga Rican Inc. (herein called 'Contractor') for my services on the television program now entitled 'Sammy and Company'...." Prinze was part Puerto Rican, part Hungarian; he called his production company, Hunga Rican Inc. Sammy and Company, a 90 minute variety series hosted by Sammy Davis, Jr., was televised from 1976-77.
