Description: This is an original 15th edition hardcover printing of the 1919 children's book "Friendly Fairies," written and beautifully illustrated by Johnny Gruelle and published by P. F. Volland Company. Overall, the copy being offered is in fair vintage condition--great for reading but not suitable for condition-sensitive collectors. As you can see in my first seven photos, the covers have heavy wear, with many surface scuffs, heavy chipping along the edges (with layering in the corners and with parts of the surface layer of the spine completely chipped away), wrinkles, stains, and scrapes; the covers are also slightly bowed upward at their outer edges . Inside, the pages remain crisp but are somewhat loosely bound, with a small gap between pages in a few areas, such as those shown in my 16th and 20th photos. Also, the pages are not particularly clean, with all of them having some degree of smudging and many of them having light stains. Two written names also appear inside the front cover, as shown in my 8th photo.
