St Therese of Lisieux is also called "The Little Flower of Jesus" and "St Therese of the Child Jesus". In her memoirs "History of a Soul," she talks about having a child-like faith and trust in God. St Therese was never in good health, suffering from tuberculosis at an early age. She experienced miraculous visions during her childhood and joined the Carmelites at age 15; although she wanted to join the missions, her health prevented her. She was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1997 by Pope John Paul II, and many miracles have been attributed to her.
