Description: Scarce full-plate (whole-plate) tintype photograph of a distinguished older man. It is a genuine tintype (ferrotype) but appears to be a photo of a cabinet card, so I thought it might be someone famous and put it through Google Lens. The closest match was the Confederate President Jefferson Davis in his later years. The face is extremely close, but the hair looks a little different, so not sure. Measures a full 6.5 x 8.5 in and in good condition with a crease along the right side and a little wear/discoloration along the bottom. See photos.
