Description: RARE Pre-War Belgian Original Release Stock Movie Poster - Gene Autry (1930's), Law Of The Prairie, Singing Cowboy, Musical Western, Horse, Guitar, Gun, Republic Pictures Here is a rare, original, large format Belgian stock movie poster from the 1st release of a film starring singing cowboy star, Gene Autry These type of stock posters were used by theater managers to promote a film featuring a popular star of the time. A generic image of the lead actor/actress would be prominently displayed on the poster with a blank area used to write or print in the film title. In this instance, Gene Autry was a very popular star of the Western genre and a few examples of stock posters have surfaced over the years. This particular poster is the only example I have ever seen over the past 25 years. It probably dates from the mid to late Thirties and is used to advertise a film roughly translated as The Law Of The Prairie. Since I am unable to find a film by that name which starred Autry, it is probably for Home On The Prairie (1939) or another title. This poster is from the first release of the movie in Belgium in 1939. It is a rare, larger Pre-War poster that features wonderful artwork that is unique to this original Belgian release poster. This poster is in very nice condition for its age and seldom comes up for sale or auction. DESCRIPTION: Gene Autry Stock Poster (1930's) Republic PicturesCONDITION: Good Trimmed Folded Condition. Partially trimmed top border has remnants of a former theater exhibition snipe. A few small tears, bumps, creases and crinkling in the surrounding white borders. A minor fold separation in the center fold (mid poster). Artwork is vivid and completely intact. Folded as originally issued, this poster has been stored folded past 13 years and will be shipped folded in a sturdy envelope.
