Description: This is an Intaglio etching by Gene Kloss, who is considered one of the most prominent American printmakers of the 20th Century. Her work is collected by museums throughout the world. There are only 25 in this edition, of which this is number 18. It is pencil signed in the lower right hand corner, titled IN THE WAR DANCE and numbered in the lower left hand corner. The etching was made in 1969 and we purchased it from Gallery A in Taos, New Mexico, in the 1970s. It has never been framed and has been carefully stored in a smoke free environment since that time. The image measures 13 7/8" by 10 7/8" and the overall size of the paper measures 19 7/8" by 14 3/4". This is number 529 in the Catalog Raisonne. There are two tape hinges on the two upper corners of the paper (just as it came from the gallery) as shown in the sixth photograph. The etching itself is in excellent condition and will be carefully packaged and shipped insured.
