Description: Santa Margherita Ligure is a comune (a municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Genoa in the Italian region Liguria, in northern Italy, located 22 miles southeast of Genoa. It has a port, used for both tourism and fishing activities. Part of comune territory is included in the Regional Natural Park of Portofino. Santa Margherita Ligure is bordered by the municipalities, Camogli, Portofino and Rapallo. The town has a population of 8,935 but increases 3-fold in the summer. Santa Margherita Ligure is situated on the Riviera di Levante, in a basin enclosed in the north-western part of the Portofino promontory, and in the innermost part of the Gulf of Tigullio, with the development of the town “ribbon-like” along two main inlets. The town is surrounded by hills covered with Mediterranean vegetation on which are villas and gardens overlooking the “Dolphin Coast”, which links the town to Portofino. This card was published by the “Dr. Trenkler Co.” located in Leipzig, and dated 1908 in the credit. It captures a beautiful “La Spiaggia”, (beach), with palm trees, two boats in the water and a horse drawn carriage with gentry. It is on a beach of the “Ligurian Sea which is part of the Mediterranean Sea. The card is in good condition with minor wear and a clean, clear image. It is not postmarked but the reverse has some writing on it and some slight staining.
