"Gentleman Johnny Burgoyne"-Hudleston-1927-Rare With Dust Jacket-US Revolution

Description: Offered is the antique book "Gentleman Johnny Burgoyne", written by F. J. Hudleston and published by the Garden City Publishing Co. in Garden City, New York. This book about the "misadventures of an English General in the Revolution" has a 1927 copyright date and an inscription by the original owner dated 1929. There are several full-page black and white illustrations. The original dust jacket is included. This edition with the dust jacket is a rare find; at the time of original listing I could only find two other copies with jacket for sale on eBay. The book is approx. 8 1/4" x 5 3/4" and contains 367 pages, including the index. It is in very good condition. The black hard cover has almost no wear, the pastedown labels still intact. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The illustrated endpapers are clean, although the previously-mentioned inscription is inside the front cover. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding. They have browned slightly but are otherwise mostly clean, with only occasional light spotting. I see no writing in the book except for the inscription. The dust jacket is almost entirely intact; there are a few short edge tears along the top and bottom edges and one very small hole near the top of the spine, where it has faded slightly.
